Emptying the Noggin – Take it and leave the building quietly.

Emptying the Noggin
• This one counts 1 in the win column and that is all that matters.

• Devin Harris willed the Jazz to the win. Jazz trailed by 8 mid way through the 4th quarter and the season felt like it was in the balance. Harris then scored 10 straight points. The Spurs were lacking there big guys but they can still play defense and they unnerved the Jazz in everything they did. The Jazz couldn’t get anything going in the half court and Harris started taking over the game making 1 on 1 plays to carry the team

• Millsap made two major plays late in the game. A huge baseline jumper and then flying in for a follow jam that clinched the victory. They were huge and Millsap got it done.

• Millsap and Harris combined for 21 of the 27 4th quarter points. Jazz outscored the Spurs 18-9 in the final 5 minutes

• Harris also added 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

• Without Parker, Manu and Duncan the Spurs struggled in the 4th quarter holding the Spurs to 6 of 23 and at one point they were they were 4 of 20.

• The Spurs were fronting the post and sagging into the lane and taking away the entire inside game of the Jazz and the Jazz don’t have the outside game to expose that defense.

• Jefferson couldn’t get anything going. He had 1 field goal in the 2nd half and 1 of 6 in the 2nd half.

• Harris is averaging a career low free throw attempts but the last few nights he has been getting to the line, tonight he took 12.

• Jefferson had 4 blocks tonight and one of them was a big one late in the game.

• The Jazz are very thin right now, Watson and Bell are done for the season; Miles and Howard are unlikely and now Evans has a sprained ankle as well.

• Spurs in 4th quarter were Neal 2 for 6; Jackson 0 for 4; Green 0 for 4; Bonner 1 for 4

• Kanter got 4 rebounds in the 4th quarter that were needed.

• Gordon Hayward played 37 minutes and scored 16 points; 6 rebounds and 4 assists – right on his average for the last 15 games or so.

• Jazz were -15 with Burks on the floor – they are -51 with him on the floor the last 4 games.

• Jazz blocked 13 shots. Evans had a nice one on a Blair drive and had 3 overall. Evans 17 minutes were the most important minutes he has played in regular rotation and he has more coming with all the injuries.

• Jazz win. The Spurs showed the discipline that makes them great but they lacked the talent to win the game. The Jazz got the win. Houston, Denver and Dallas are crying foul tonight and we are on the benefactor of that foul. Take it and quietly leave the room.
